Zooz Z-Wave Long Range 700 Series Titan Water Valve Actuator ZAC36 LR
I recently installed the Zooz Z-Wave Long Range 700 Series Titan Water Valve Actuator and I'm very impressed. Installation took just 5 minutes thanks to the ease in design and clear instructions. Shipping was fast and the price is excellent for the value it provides. The actuator integrates seamlessly with my home automation system and performs reliably. Highly recommended for anyone needing a smart home water valve solution.
Easy to install and setup in Hubitat and integrate into the safety monitor. I did need to move my hub closer for the initial pairing but overall was easier than I expected to get installed and working.
I was happy the sale took place so I could replace my water valve shutoff with a titan. No more guessing if it will actually work!
I really like having the peace of mind of having this water valve. It also comes with it's own built in water sensor. I also plan on adding more water sensors to various areas of my house.
I found it quite easy to install. It still worked on PEX pipe and you can adjust the clamps up and down to get around the pipe fittings around the valve.
I compared this with Moen Flow. I went with this one since people were complaining how the moen one would randomly shut off at inopportune times. I also went with this one since I didn't want to mess with plumbing. There is no way for it to monitor the flow rate, unlike the Moen Flow, however. I don't know if it would be that helpful anyway, since my RO system tends to trickle run to fill the tank and it might "look" like a leak.
I did struggle a bit at first. You have to read the instructions VERY carefully! There is a small ring that goes between the ball valve and the actuator and it would not work on my ball valve handle without this ring. I also was disappointed that the printed instructions did not indicate how to troubleshoot pairing. I needed to search online how to do it. Once it was paired, though, it worked well. Hopefully it will be worth it's cost! Definitely helpful for peace of mind.
