I had a little trouble getting the leak sensor to work, until I realized you need to really push the connector in hard for a tight seal. Otherwise very easy setup.
Simply put, I’m loving the Zooz products. I’m running a Vera3 and although it’s not “supported” I’ve yet to have an issue running switches, dimmers, and now the water valve and flood sensors. All the products are high quality, easy to use, well packaged and reasonably priced! A quick internet search and the required steps to integrate Zooz with Vera made for easy setup.
I hoped the installation would go smooth and it did. I needed to install a spacer block of wood to move the water valve away from the floor joint in my case but the rest of the install went good. The kit contains a water sensor that plugs into the actuator so now I can monitor the crawlspace under the house without changing a battery in a wireless sensor. This unit is connected to Home Assistant for monitoring and control.
The Valve Actuator (ZAC36) installed easily, calibrated well, and works via the Z-Box app or Button on the device. The plumbing valve is pretty old, and the calibration took a little longer than in the online videos. The valve is pretty stiff and the actuator works a little to move it.
I like the leak detector attachment too. It provides a non-battery powered leak detector...one less battery to replace every now and then. The ZSE42 sensors are also nice. I like the 'rubbery' finish of the outer case.
All in all, the kit is great. It is nice to have a little more peace of mind should a leak occur, being able to catch it quickly.
This kit was pretty easy to set up and is well worth the price for the peace of mind it offers. I had to file away some of the plastic spacer that connects to the valve to make it fit, but other than that smooth sailing
