Zooz Light Switches & Dimmers Frequently Asked Questions
NOTE: If you don't see your Z-Wave controller on the list above, please contact us before you purchase this product.
Please follow the manual guidelines and diagrams when installing your Zooz S2 switches. It's recommended that a licensed electrician performs the installation.
Check for neutral wires BEFORE purchasing. One white wire from a 14-3 romex is NOT a neutral. Ask us if you're not sure about the wiring, we'll help quickly!
How to include the 800 Series On / Off switch to your smart home hub?
1. Make sure the switch is installed within range of your Z-Wave network
2. Put your Z-Wave hub in inclusion/pairing mode
3. Tap the toggle up 3 times quickly to finalize the inclusion process
4. A new on/off switch will appear on your controller's device list
NOTE: Follow an appropriate diagram from the manual to wire the switch in a 3-way or 4-way setting with a regular electrical switch if you are looking to control one light with 2 or 3 switches. If you can't match your wiring with any of the diagrams, let us know and we'll walk you through the wiring process.
Great toggle switch, has a solid feel compared to others. Very reliable, we have many of them installed.
Works great connected to home assistant. Easy to install and include in the zwave network.
I've started primarily using zooz devices because of the ease of setup, good documentation, and stability. This was no exception. Perfectly happy.
Sick of walking down the stairs to turn on/off your outdoor lights? Let HA (or some other automation system) do it for you! Super easy installation and even easier integration. The only issue I had came from some bizarre wiring where the electrician who built the house tied neutrals together from two different circuits. After cleaning up that mess, all is well. If you're using the neutral that comes with it, make sure you're tying into the same circuit if your multi-gang box has multiple circuits! If you're uncomfortable at all or are unfamiliar with wiring in a home, call an electrician to save yourself the headache! It won't be expensive, it's a super easy job.
In a multi-way configuration, this switch works with conventional (non-smart) slave switches -- which can be a virtue. On the flip side, it does not work with smart slave switches. If those are already in place, and this is substituted for the master, they will cease to function. It is best to know this up front.
