Follow the appropriate diagram to wire the Universal Relay according to your application. If you don't see a diagram describing your set-up, please contact us to request help with the installation. Remember to always turn power off at the breaker before handling the wires. Never apply any voltage to the Sw input terminals!
Once you've completed the wiring, power the Universal Relay up with a USB C and a standard power adapter (sold separately) or a direct connection to 12 / 24 V power source.
Now add the Universal Relay to your hub: initiate inclusion (pairing mode) and click the Z-Wave button on the device 3 times quickly. The LED indicator will blink to indicate communication and stay on for 2 seconds to confirm inclusion.
You’ll most likely see 3 new on/off devices in your app:
2 channels for on/off control of each relay
1 master node to control all relays at the same time and to access and adjust advanced settings in (if your hub supports parameter input)
My 4th Zen17 LR unit!
I've fallen for these amazing little relay boxes. All my low voltage outdoor equipment runs through these, and having smart automation of my lights via the ZEN17 is outstanding.
While I loved the original, the 800LR series is the way to go. These work well with the extra distance and I haven't had a missed "on/off" event since swapping these in. Highly recommend
Easy to set up, versitile in use cases. I've got 2 zones covering my back porch and stairs, colored lights at the back of the property, and 3 landscape light zones that make smart sense.
I use my Zen17 to control the fresh air duct control on my HVAC. It works great. I monitor air quality inside my home and when it is less than ideal I turn on my bathroom exhaust fans and open up my fresh air duct using the 17. This pulls in fresh air in to improve air quality within my home.
Had to upgrade firmware as it wasn't making the correct entities for feedback from the inputs. Took a couple hours to figure out but otherwise after that all worked as expected.
Used this device to control my ERV remotely. Zooz support was helpful in assisting me in the wiring configuration. Works with no issues
Easy wiring and great documentation!. Works well with Home Assistant.
