How to include the Zooz Heavy Duty switch to your smart home network?
1. Bring your Z-Wave gateway hub or controller as close to the switch as possible
2. Put your Z-Wave controller in inclusion/pairing mode
3. Scan the SmartStart QR code on the front metal plate of the switch or tap the upper paddle of the switch 3 times quickly to finalize the inclusion process manually
4. A new on/off switch should appear on your controller's device list
NOTE: Use a dedicated diagram from the manual to wire the switch in a 3-way setting with a regular electrical switch if you are looking to control one light with 2 or 3 switches.
I've been waiting for a heavy duty z-wave switch for a long time. This Zooz switch is as solid as all their other stuff. Installs easily and setup was a breeze. No issues to report. Solid switch. I'm finally able to replace the dumb switch controlling the ballast lights in my workshop, the last remaining room in the house not to have lights integrated into my Home Assistant.
looks good and works great. installation was easy.
Wiring with wire nuts is less convenient, but it's probably necessary for the power draw. Works just as well once installed.
I've been waiting for this for a long time for my shop lights! Worth every penny!
Very cool project
