This kit was pretty easy to set up and is well worth the price for the peace of mind it offers. I had to file away some of the plastic spacer that connects to the valve to make it fit, but other than that smooth sailing
The zooZ Titan Value Actuator (ZSC36) is an excellent gadget that I think every home must have to avoid accidental flooding from the plumbing system. Please make sure you meet all the requirements or is prepared to modify your existing system before buying it. It works well, and as intended. I connected mine to Ring. Because I don't have a Z-wave hub I couldn't use the sensors (ZSE42), but I will use them in the near future as I have decided to use more Z-wave items in my house.
Easy setup and now controls my main water valve. The only hiccup was with the water sensors and hence the 4 instead of 5 stars. For some reason they added themselves multiple times to my z-wave dongle. Changing to newer batteries solved that issue, though I needed to factory reset the dongle to remove the repeat appearances.
I was initially planning on installing the Moen Flo smart valve, but after after reading about build quality and reliability issues, I started looking for an alternative. This valve actuator from Zooz fit the bill perfectly. Unlike plumbed-in smart valves, the Titan lets me use a conventional (i.e. higher quality) valve. In my case, I installed the device on a 3/4 inch commercial grade Pex-A ball valve from Uponor. I wasn't sure whether the expansion rings on either side of the valve would interfere with the clips on the Titan, but the spacing wasn't an issue. Installing the valve and integrating it into my Home Assistant setup took less than 5 minutes. Since then, it has worked flawlessly.
Unfortunately, I received different leak sensors than those advertised as coming in the kit (I received the older, non-LR models). TSH customer support promptly offered to exchange the incorrect sensors and shipped a new set of sensors to me within hours of me initially emailing them. 10/10 customer service.
This valve has saved me Twice in last year. My boiler blow off valve opened and water was dumping on floor I had a Zooz leak detector near furnace and it closed my main water valve saving me big time. Second Time my second floor shower drain broke and water was leaking into the first floor ceiling then it was running down to basement and the same water leak sensor got wet and sent signal to the Titan water valve shit off. Works great its worth the price.
