Here are some helpful installation tips:
How to include the 800 Series Dimmer switch to your smart home network?
1. Bring your Z-Wave gateway hub or controller as close to the switch as possible
2. Put your Z-Wave controller in inclusion mode
3. Tap the UPPER paddle of the switch 3 times very quickly to finalize the inclusion process
4. A new dimmer (or multilevel switch) device will appear on your controller's device list
NOTE: Use a dedicated diagram from the manual to wire the switch in a 3-way setting with a regular electrical switch if you are looking to control one light with 2 switches. This switch may wire differently in 3-way or 4-way installation than your other Zooz switch.
The ZEN72 and the other Zooz switches have all been reliable and works perfectly. The switches are well designed and easy to install. Appreciate the thoughtful instructions. I have had great success with using Home Assistant to customize these switches for automations.
Great construction quality and very elianle
I like that these are on the more shallow side compared to similar switches, which helps with box fill a little. The firmware of the switches offers a wide range of customization options, and up to 5x tap events is very useful.
Remodeled our kitchen a couple years ago, and my old "dumb" switch with integrated motion sensor could no longer be used because it faced fully away from the kitchen.
Got this switch and paired it with a Zooz ZSE18 500 (the 800 was not available yet) via my HomeAssistant Green, and have been pretty happy.
I had to move the HA box because I think metal ducting in the wall was blocking the signal, but it's been working great since then.
The Zooz dimmer has been great, I have 2, have had no problems with dimmable LEDs, including some recessed LED can replacements that I was not confident were going to work in place. Be aware if you have a lot of excess wire in the box, range on these things suffers -- but that's how RF works and it's not the switch's fault
