Here are some helpful installation tips:
How to include the 800 Series Dimmer switch to your smart home network?
1. Bring your Z-Wave gateway hub or controller as close to the switch as possible
2. Put your Z-Wave controller in inclusion mode
3. Tap the UPPER paddle of the switch 3 times very quickly to finalize the inclusion process
4. A new dimmer (or multilevel switch) device will appear on your controller's device list
NOTE: Use a dedicated diagram from the manual to wire the switch in a 3-way setting with a regular electrical switch if you are looking to control one light with 2 switches. This switch may wire differently in 3-way or 4-way installation than your other Zooz switch.
I had already set up the 800 Z-Wave USB Stick with my thermostat, so I'd done this once before and it was extremely easy. This one was a bit more challenging, as my electrical wiring seems to have been done by drunken monkeys and all three of the existing switches were crosswired together in unpredictable ways. So I used the enclosed diagramme to sort out what went where, put the wires where they went and slapped the stickers on to keep warrantee intact, and turned on the breaker. LIGHTS! DIMMING! FADE TO OFF! Then I hit the up button three times, told my Home Assistant to look for a Zooz Z-Wave device, and that was it. Done. Variable lights and controls, all there. I wish everything in Home Assistant was this easy! 10/10, will be buying more from you guys.
I bought these after searching forms for best switches to use with HA. I start with 4 of these but will be planning to replace all the wall switches with more. They are great! Super fast response time with a nice dim to off function built in that I like.
I ordered a Zooz ZEN 72 from Smartest House to test and compare against some other brands. It is probably the best bang for the buck Z-Wave dimmer I've tried. I will be using more of these switches in a new home very soon!
It just works. I will be replacing all my original GE/Jasco Zwave switches with these.
We use this regularly for single pole, and 3+ way channel usage. Works great and no issues so far
