You asked, we listened. The new Siren & Chime is mix of unique and advanced features that make for an optimized DIY security device. Paired with a compatible Z-Wave hub, use this device for audio and visual alerts, whether you’re getting a notification on your smartphone or hearing the siren from upstairs. It plugs into a standard receptacle without blocking the other outlet and includes back-up battery so the siren stays active even during a power outage.
Connect the Siren & Chime with other Z-Wave devices for next-level home security - program it to go off as soon as a door or window are opened unexpectedly, when your Z-Wave leak sensors detect water where it shouldn’t be, and even when the indoor temperature gets too low or high. The device is also equipped with a back-up battery and the latest S2 security protocol for extra layers of protection.
As a bonus, this device allows you to upload custom audio files for the device to play, depending on the rules you set. This is feature requires your hub to support the Sound Switch command class. Please review the Works With section below to make sure your hub will recognize this functionality.
You can include the Siren and Chime to your Z-Wave system automatically via SmartStart or manually via classic mesh network inclusion. Include it right from its installation location to help the hub find the best route to the device.
For SmartStart inclusion, put your Z-Wave hub into inclusion/pairing mode (see your hub’s manual or click one of the links below for detailed instructions) and scan the SmartStart code. The SmartStart QR code and security PIN are located on top of the siren so you can easily scan the code when the device is plugged in. Simply power the device for SmartStart inclusion, it will be added automatically. On SmartThings, you may need to tap the + button on the siren 3 times quickly to complete the inclusion process. The LED indicator will start blinking and the new device should appear on your hub’s device list.
For manual inclusion, initiate inclusion (pairing) in the app or hub UI. Make sure the device is powered and finalize the inclusion at the siren: tap the + button on the device 3 times quickly.
The LED indicator will blink green to signal communication, you’ll also hear a message “Device in inclusion mode” to confirm the state and turn green for 2 seconds announcing
“Device added” if inclusion is successful or turn red for 2 seconds if the pairing attempt fails.

I’ve been very impressed with the Zooz Z-Wave Long Range Siren & Chime (ZSE50 800LR). I’m using multiple units as part of a perimeter monitoring system that complements my primary home security setup, and they’ve added a lot of practical value.
What really sets this device apart is the ability to load custom audio messages. Instead of just a generic alert, I can have announcements like “Motion Detected: Front Door,” which immediately tells me exactly where activity is happening. That level of specificity makes a big difference in real-world use.
The sirens themselves are compact and easy to place just about anywhere, so it’s simple to get good coverage throughout the house. Integration with my Zooz motion sensors has been smooth, and the system responds quickly and reliably.
Z-Wave Long Range support is another strong point, especially for placing units farther from the hub without worrying about connectivity.
Overall, this is a versatile and highly effective alerting device. If you want more informative notifications than a basic siren can provide, this is an excellent choice.
Love the device and HA integration ease. However, I haven’t yet been able to drag and drop siren mp3 files to it on my macbook air. The USB drive doesn’t show up. I don’t have a windows machine to try.
Have been using for a few months - love it! Can upload your own mp4!

The sound on this one is underwhelming, I thought it would be a little louder but I've tried all the tricks I can find and it's ok but not the loudness I'd have preferred.
