Check your wiring first to confirm that you have all the following wires present in your gang box: load (most often black), line (most often black), neutral (most often white), and ground (most often green).
If you are not comfortable identifying the wiring and following the instructions, please hire a licensed electrician.
Here are some helpful wiring tips:
How to include the Zooz Heavy Duty switch to your smart home network?
1. Bring your Z-Wave gateway hub or controller as close to the switch as possible
2. Put your Z-Wave controller in inclusion/pairing mode
3. Scan the SmartStart QR code on the front metal plate of the switch or tap the upper paddle of the switch 3 times quickly to finalize the inclusion process manually
4. A new on/off switch should appear on your controller's device list
NOTE: Use a dedicated diagram from the manual to wire the switch in a 3-way setting with a regular electrical switch if you are looking to control one light with 2 or 3 switches.
I installed several of these to automate the control of lights and fans. The switches added to my system without issue. My system consists of Home Assistant running in a docker on an Unraid server with a Connect ZWA-2 z-wave controller. I created several automations using motion and humidity sensors. Everything works as expected.
Much better than my old GE switches. It's also nice that you don't have to use a special "add on" device. I will be buying another one after my last GE dimmer died.
These heavy-duty switches are perfect for switching outlets around my home. Other light duty switches stop at half the current rating of this one. I'm sad I ran out of outlets to add more switches to. Highly recommended!
Bought this to control my pool pump remotely. Works great. Wired for 240 and it works!
The switch works great. The relay inside does make an audible click when toggled, which our other Zooz switches do not. It would be nice if that were quieter, but otherwise it works great!
