Here are some helpful wiring tips:
How to include the Zooz On / Off switch to your smart home network?
1. Bring your Z-Wave gateway hub or controller as close to the switch as possible
2. Put your Z-Wave controller in inclusion/pairing mode
3. Tap the upper paddle of the switch 3 times quickly to finalize the inclusion process
4. A new on/off switch should appear on your controller's device list
NOTE: Use a dedicated diagram from the manual to wire the switch in a 3-way setting with a regular electrical switch if you are looking to control one light with 2 or 3 switches.
This is one of several ZooZ switches I have throughout my house. They're all affiliated with my Hubitat. It's been solid
Installation was a breeze. I had 2 Kasa WiFi switches that were a bit temperamental using my Hubitat hub. I decided to replace with these Zen 71's. Mechanical installation was easy. The only issues I had was temperamental pairing. I had to cycle power to the switches numerous times, with the circuit breaker being ~50 yards from the switch location. Had to reset the switches twice before they finally paired. The switching via the hub is a bit slower, but so far reliable.
I had (another) GE paddle switch go out on me and I replaced it with the Zooz Zen71. No fuss, direct wire swap and running in under 5 minutes on my network. I am slowly migrating all my Zwave gear to Zooz… best bang for the buck!
I bought this switch to make my house a little smarter and I keep coming back to buy more. They're so easily installed and integrated into Home Assistant that all my remaining "dumb switches" know their days are numbered.
As an experienced z-wave user (over 200 products installed), I can tell you that this is the BEST automation product by a mile! It is packaged well, has complete and accurate instructions, and includes everything you need for installation and integration, and more. I highly recommend all Zooz products for your automation needs :)
