    INSTALLATION

Follow the appropriate diagram to wire the Universal Relay according to your application. If you don't see a diagram describing your set-up, please contact us to request help with the installation. Remember to always turn power off at the breaker before handling the wires. Never apply any voltage to the Sw input terminals!

Once you've completed the wiring, power the Universal Relay up with a USB C and a standard power adapter (sold separately) or a direct connection to 12 / 24 V power source.

Now add the Universal Relay to your hub: initiate inclusion (pairing mode) and click the Z-Wave button on the device 3 times quickly. The LED indicator will blink to indicate communication and stay on for 2 seconds to confirm inclusion.

You’ll most likely see 3 new on/off devices in your app:

2 channels for on/off control of each relay
1 master node to control all relays at the same time and to access and adjust advanced settings in (if your hub supports parameter input)

      Most Versatile Z-Wave Device

This is my favorite Z-Wave device that I own. I love how I can use it to automate anything. I use the inputs track the door opening and closing then use the relay to turn on a low voltage light.

Great to integrate long-range driveway sensor

Dang, Zooz products are so much better than homeseer. Zooz is like packaged and documented like Apple products, and Homeseer is like Windows 3.1- and I am not an apple fan in the slightest. The best word to describe these products is, "thoughtful". It feels like humans designed and documented this for other humans, not just robots and engineers.

Anyway, to discuss the Zen17, I used it to connect my driveway sensor to my z-wave gateway, and then output audio announcements over my whole-home Sonos setup. I used the 433mhz HTZSafe MFR driveway sensors because I live on a farm, and my driveway is 300ft from my house, through dense forest. The Zen17 let me go from the NO contact outputs, to the s1c/s2c inputs, then into my hub. It was a little confusing deciding which relay to use, but I used my meter and found that the HTZSafe relays didn't output voltage like the documentation noted, so I used s1c. I changed parameters 2&3 to 7, excluded/included, then could setup events with the newly created child devices.

I have to add, dang, homeseer is the worst part of my setup. Smartest House customer service with Maggie and Sara is so much more friendly and responsive. If Zooz made a 2-wire, no-neutral switch, I'd ditch Homeseer entirely.

      Works like a charm

Purchased this for my sump pump. Using 200ah Lifepo4 battery, this allows for dual connection 1 for smart/zwave and 2nd I used for if hub goes down. Works perfect for my setup. Only CON is that I couldn't get the timer function to work using advanced setup.

      Works well with Hubitat

I bought this, along with a pair of switches that allowed me to remotely control my garage doors. It paired instantly with Hubitat and using it with the ZOOZ garage door driver, was able to accomplish the task with ease. It has been working well now for several months! Lots of things you can do with this device as it's very configurable. Highly recommended.

      Zooz guides are helpful

Took me a few tries of adding device handlers to get the relay to work properly, but after a few exclusion cycles and changing the device type within the web browser for smartthings, it worked great. Easy purchase and quick shipping. Everything arrived in good condition and on time.
