Simply use the provided triangle tool to open the Wall Remote, take out the pull-tabs from the battery slots to activate the device. Follow the instructions to integrate the device with your hub and install the base in a standard switch box or on any flat surface using the provided screw or adhesive tape. Finish the installation by attaching the wall plate to the magnetic base of the Wall Remote.
How to add the Wall Remote to your Z-Wave home hub?
1. Make sure the device is within range of your Z-Wave network
2. Put your Z-Wave hub in inclusion/pairing mode
3. Tap the top button of the Remote Switch 6 times quickly to finalize the inclusion process (or scan the QR code / enter the 4-digit DSK number printed on the back of the remote if using the new SmartStart method)
4. A new remote control / button controller device will appear on your hub's device list
I am upgrading a few devices in my house and decided to swap out the old shelly wifi buttons for the ZEN37 wall remotes, and despite not mounting them on a wall, they are performing great. Easy inclusion, annd incredible response.
Let me start out by saying that I love this device. It's rechargeable (huge plus), doesn't require wires, and has all mounting for your typical US switch box. Where I was slightly disappointed was the build quality. The top large buttons on this are "crunchy" or "sticky" feeling when pressed down. You almost need to hit the very center for the button click to register. The ZEN34 button clicks feel so much better. Additionally, the magnets on the ZEN34 / ZEN37 are inverted - what I mean by this is you cannot but the switch portion of the ZEN37 where the magnet base of the ZEN34 is mounted. I'd love to be able to keep the base mounted on the wall but rotate if I put the ZEN34 or ZEN37 in that spot. When you do this, the magnets repel (and the ZEN37 will not be able to be put where the ZEN34 was).
Great little remote with so many possibilities. I love that Zooz has a magnetic backing, unlike the slightly cheaper version sold elsewhere. Also, you can do single click, double, triple, quadruple click and hold with each button, So many options.
Worked as expected
I have tried to avoid these things and other battery-powered devices as keeping up with batteries can be time annoying. These do last a long time as as they're USB-C rechargeable they're easy to recharge. I think the only thing keeping me from giving 5 stars is that the touch on the buttons is a little squishy; they do have a tactile click when pressed fully, but the buttons can be partially pressed without registering.
