After nearly ten years of dependable service, my Aeotec motion sensor placed outdoor finally stopped working. I decided to replace it with the Zooz 800 Series Z-Wave Long Range Outdoor Motion Sensor, and I could not be happier with the decision. The sensor is incredibly responsive, built for outdoor conditions, and offers impressive long-range detection.

If you are using a SmartThings Hub, be aware that you need to install the correct Zooz custom driver for the device to function properly. Fortunately, the product comes with a detailed instruction sheet (QR code) that walks you through each step. I followed it without any issues and had the device fully integrated in just a few minutes.

Works flawlessly outside of my office

Works well

Very handy to have temperature motion and illumination in 1 device. I am using it to detect motion and turn on a light in a room without windows so the Lux is not used but I am referencing the temp and motion for my needs. The light reference could be handy if used outdoors ha ha.

Product is excellent, Love it!!
With USPS it took a week from NJ to GA, USPS Failed

Cap very hard to remove

Motion sensor works fine plus has temp and lux readings. If the device gets hit by sun the temp reading will be totally wrong. Biggest issue is that the battery housing cap is impossible to unscrew by hand. I had to use a rubber spanner. Also the device slides into the bracket from the bottom. So if the bracket tabs ever wear out or the sensor is not fully snapped in it will fall out by gravity.
