Your existing landscape lighting low Voltage power source will work great too!
Love these I have a number of these all over my property. Indoor and outdoor. Some powered by 12v and some powered by solar panels. They work great. The only sketchy ones are the solar panel ones but that is to be expected being that it is continuous power.
Purchased and installed the unit (hardwired) over 12 months ago. Installed outdoors with some rain exposure. Having looked up the IP66 standard, I assumed that the unit was essentially waterproof unless submerged.
I was wrong. After one winter, the unit showed signs of water behind the lens. While the unit itself continued to function, albeit somewhat compromised by the droplets, I opted to exercise my warranty option. After exchanging emails with ZOOZ, wherein the asserted that the unit was NOT meant to be exposed to rain, they agreed that I should send the unit back for assessment. Just received the replacement. Meanwhile, I installed another identical model in the same location BUT this time with a clear plastic shield (seen in photo). The range and performance are unchanged with the shield. In summary then, the unit delivers good performance and customization options but I caution against any outdoor installation unless rain protected. One last note. The LR (long range) function was a feature which I could not use due to it not being supported by my hub. M
Easy setup. Works as advertised. Like the motion + lux. I have it installed outside my garage. Hope it holds up through a Chicago winter!
Unlike most outdoor motion sensors, this model supports a 12V hardwired connection. You can adjust the detection range by changing the sensitivity. Note that while it works GREAT at night, it can struggle with false triggers during daylight hours.
Easy to install and connect.
