How to add the Wall Remote to your Z-Wave home hub?

2. Put your Z-Wave hub in inclusion/pairing mode
3. Tap the top button of the Remote Switch 6 times quickly to finalize the inclusion process (or scan the QR code / enter the 4-digit DSK number printed on the back of the remote if using the new SmartStart method)
4. A new remote control / button controller device will appear on your hub's device list
The Zooz ZEN37 800LR wall remote has quickly become one of the most useful devices in my setup. It’s incredibly flexible thanks to its battery-powered design, allowing me to mount it anywhere without wiring, and the magnetic base even lets me use it as a handheld remote when needed. The four buttons with multi-tap support provide a surprising amount of control, making it easy to trigger multiple scenes like lighting presets, “all off,” or bedtime routines with a single device. Performance has been rock solid—the 800 series Z-Wave chip delivers excellent range and responsiveness, even at the edge of my network, and commands execute reliably with no noticeable lag. I also appreciate the thoughtful details like the rechargeable battery, customizable LED indicators, and easy SmartStart pairing with S2 security. Overall, this is a clean, well-designed, and highly practical solution for adding physical control to a smart home, especially in a Hubitat or similar Z-Wave environment, and I’d highly recommend it to anyone looking to simplify and expand their automation setup.
Integrated two of these into my Home Assistant environment (HAOS 7.2.3) using a ZWA-2 800 Series stick. Using them as primary scene controllers for my kids’ rooms to bridge the gap between Zigbee canopy relays (Inovelli VZM36) and Z-Wave infrastructure. The 800 Series Long Range (LR) performance is noticeable; even with the battery-powered sleep state, latency is negligible. Button feel is tactile and responsive. Perfect for providing a "normal" switch experience for the family while maintaining complex automation logic in the backend.
Most Z‑Wave scene controllers have historically been… let’s be charitable and say temperamental.
The ZEN37 is the first one that behaves like a modern, low‑latency, high‑reliability input device instead of a sleepy battery toy.
I've only had it a week, but its located in a high traffic area where it controls garage doors, a workbench that can be powered for 2 hours (1 tap) or 6 hours (2 taps), and an exterior lighting scene that allows the entire garage and front of the building to be lit up for visitors, or questionable visitors. We are using Homeseer. It required the full 40 digit code to be entered. Beyond that it was painless to set up. The buttons are are every bit as responsive as a wired devices on a modern zwave plus network running LR. And that is the key here, Zwave Plus LR with an 800 series controller. PLEASE MAKE AN OUTDOOR VERIONS OF THIS DEVICE! It would be fantastic to have these outside to control various scenes. (we have an elaborate outdoor party scene that you have to trigger from inside the house.) I highly recommend getting one of these to test out (which is what we are doing but are already loving it) I'll give it a couple more months but I plan to add a couple more of these for convenience around the building.
Everything is perfect. The documentation, the online support, the people, and of course the product. This is how everything should be.
I have bought a lot of products here and every single one. I’ve been satisfied with thanks for the great product.
