NOTE: custom etched plates are NOT included with your purchase on The Smartest House. Domotinc sells two hardware versions of the ZEN37 (see product changelog here).
Simply use the provided triangle tool to open the Wall Remote, take out the pull-tabs from the battery slots to activate the device. Follow the instructions to integrate the device with your hub and install the base in a standard switch box or on any flat surface using the provided screw or adhesive tape. Finish the installation by attaching the wall plate to the magnetic base of the Wall Remote.
How to add the Wall Remote to your Z-Wave home hub?
1. Make sure the device is within range of your Z-Wave network
2. Put your Z-Wave hub in inclusion/pairing mode
3. Tap the top button of the Remote Switch 6 times quickly to finalize the inclusion process (or scan the QR code / enter the 4-digit DSK number printed on the back of the remote if using the new SmartStart method)
4. A new remote control / button controller device will appear on your hub's device list
Love combining these with not only physical items to turn on and off but also to trigger automations in my smart home ecosystem. Makes the house more user-friendly!
Fine product, but it sits in faceplate very sloppy when wall mounting
As with the dozens of other Zooz devices I own, this one is well built and integrates seamlessly with Home Assistant. Also love that its battery is rechargeable -- I hate having to replace little coin batteries.
As others have noted, the buttons have a "loose" feel, and don't reliably register off-center presses.
The warning about charging with greater than 1 amp is a sign of sloppy engineering. The "U" in USB stands for Universal, not Unlikely Survival.
Thank you for your feedback, we really appreciate you taking the time to share your experience.
We understand the comments regarding the button feel and responsiveness, and we’re currently in the process of updating the hardware design for a smoother and more consistent user experience.
Regarding charging, the ZEN37 uses USB-C for convenience, but it is designed specifically for a standard 5V / 1A power supply. The supplied power from the adapter should not exceed 5V / 1A, as higher-output chargers may damage the device. Because many Apple chargers and modern fast chargers negotiate higher current levels, we do not recommend using them with Zooz devices.
as always, i am happy with every zooz product i've installed in my house and this remote is no exception. easy set up and works well to control various lights/scenes all over my home! definitely get some when they show up on sale!
