Check your wiring first to confirm that you have all the following wires present in your gang box: load (most often black), line (most often black), neutral (most often white), and ground (most often green).
If you are not comfortable identifying the wiring and following the instructions, please hire a licensed electrician.
Here are some helpful wiring tips:
How to include the Dry Contact Relay to your smart home network?
1. Bring your Z-Wave gateway hub or controller as close to the switch as possible
2. Put your Z-Wave controller in inclusion/pairing mode
3. Click the Z-Wave button on the relay 3 times quickly to finalize the inclusion process
4. A new on/off switch should appear on your controller's device list
I tossed one of these in my pool lighting transformer boxes and it lets me tie the lights in to my SmartThings hub. Very quick and easy!
Good range- it is over 200’ away from hub (which doesn’t support LR mode) and provides mesh connectivity for 2 other devices.
The attached leads make installation easier.
Getting it to pair with hub (Universal Devices Eisy) involved doing a whole bunch of rapid clicking on the “button”. The instructions to perform 3 clicks in succession didn’t work for me.
This relay fits in a single gang electric box and controls some 110v landscaping lights that are programmed to come on at sunset for a few hours each day.
I have a large garage/basement with many overhead fixtures tied to one circuit. I have the main On/Off Switch controlled by a Zooz On/Off switch, but sometimes I want certain areas on/off for movies, etc. Enter this relay... I installed multiple ones right at the lights where I need granular control. Works great.
Wiring was a bit tricky with the gate controller but now it works well. I have exterior lights that come on when this is triggered by the gate remote and controller.
