We get a lot of inquiries from Wink users trying to connect Z-Wave devices which should "technically" work with their hub but are not listed on the device list in the Wink hub.
You can include most on/off Z-Wave products to Wink and Wink 2, including light switches, plug-in modules, dimmers, and even multi-channel devices such as our popular Zooz Power Strip which allows you to control 5 outlets individually.
Since Wink's support is not very obvious on how to include these "generic" Z-Wave devices to your network, we created this step-by-step guide with easy-to-follow instructions and screenshots to make everything super clear.
We hope it helps you enjoy your Z-Wave system even more!
1. Plug the Zooz Power Strip into a receptacle within your Wink's direct range (the closer the better)
2. Test each outlet on the strip by clicking on the power button for every channel (CH1, CH2, etc) - the LED indicators next to each channel will light up in blue to confirm the outlet is working
3. Open the Wink app on your phone or tablet
4. Click on Hubs
5. Click on Settings (the gear icon)
6. Click on your hub (most likely named Wink Hub)
7. Scroll down to Settings and click on Z-Wave Controls
8. Click on Inclusion Mode
9. The app will display the following message: Waiting for ZWave devices to be included and the LED indicator on your Wink hub will blink blue
10. Press and release the CH1 power button on the Power Strip 3 times very quickly (you can click it several times more to make sure the command has gone through)
11. While the app will NOT confirm inclusion of the device, your Wink hub will go from blinking blue to a solid green light to confirm the device was successfully included. Wait for the LED indicator to turn green before exiting Inclusion Mode
12. The Zooz Power Strip will now show as 6 individual devices (1 master and 5 child nodes) under Lights on your home screen
If you can't find the new device under Lights, it's possible that something went wrong and you'll need to repeat the process, following all steps carefully. We always recommend exclusion or reset before attempting to include a Z-Wave device for the second time. Read how to exclude / reset a device which never connected to your Wink hub here.
Let us know about your inclusion experience with Wink in the comments section below!

Imagine this: it’s a stuffy summer night, and you’re already in bed when you realize the ceiling fan is off. Or maybe you’ve left the house and can’t remember if the bathroom fan is still running. What if your fan could turn on automatically when the room gets too warm—or shut off when no one’s around?
That’s the beauty of smart fan control. It’s not just about convenience (though turning your fan on with your voice or a tap on a smart remote is pretty great). It’s about making your home more energy-efficient, more responsive, and just... smarter.
