This sensor is perfect for spot monitoring in spaces where your smart thermostat doesn't reach. Install the device in your bedroom to prepare just the right temperature for the night. Mount it in the basement or on your sun porch to trigger climate control device and keep the air constant where humidity and temperature is most likely to change quickly.
Just stick it to the flat surface of your choice with the supplied adhesive tape for 1-minute installation. We recommend using the dedicated mounting bracket if you'd like to install the sensor outdoors. Always keep the device out of direct sunlight and rain or snow.
Works, clear instructions, firmware available, good advanced settings. Just wish battery reporting was more consistent. It showed 26%, then I thought it died, so I replaced the battery, and 2 weeks later it still shows 26%.
There’s about five places in the United States that never get below 50°F or above 90°F. This is only good for indoors. Very limited.
Thank you for your feedback!
This sensor has a limited temperature range, as we have had many users attempt to install the unit inside freezers and refrigerators. The ZSE44 is meant for monitoring the air temp and humidity of rooms inside or directly outside your home (under a covered porch or eve) where the temperatures would typically only be on the extreme ends of the sensor's operating temp for a short period of time. Additionally, While CR2450 batteries can technically operate at lower temperatures, cold temperatures reduce ion mobility, increasing the batteries' internal resistance and dropping the output voltage. No energy storage is lost, it's just that the energy doesn't get to the device, it dissipates internally, which means in cold weather, the unit becomes unresponsive. This is a battery limitation as well as a specification for the Z-Wave chip in the device. The sensor needs a certain amount of voltage from the battery to report, and when that energy is dissipated due to the cold, you get a loss of function until the battery is warmed.
The Zooz ZSE44 800LR is exactly what I was looking for. Setup was quick and painless, it paired without any issues. The Z-Wave Long Range performance is impressive, it reaches areas of my home where older sensors would struggle. Temperature and humidity readings are accurate and consistent. It integrates seamlessly with Home Assistant, which is a big plus for anyone running a smart home setup. Highly recommend this sensor if you're building out a Z-Wave network.
Works as expected.
I have a few of these around the house to help with HVAC controls. Really accurate and super easy to setup. Highly recommend.
