The Philips deadbolt was easy to install and program. In addition, this connected to Home Assistant Z-Wave JS quickly and has remained connected and worked perfectly over the last week since installed. The fingerprint reader has worked very well too.
Bought this during BF last year and have been extremely pleased with it. Still have not changed the batteries! Easy control with Home Assistant. Custom PINs for each person who needs access, great for our pet sitters. Stable z-wave connection from my front door to my basement hub, through several layers of walls.
*** Changing to one star *** The return process is frustrating. I had one defective device out of six ordered and they are being very difficult about getting a replacement. I had planned to order more as well. Avoid them if you can.
I have been hunting for a good Zwave door lock forever. I prefer ZWave for locks since the batteries last forever compared to wifi, and zwave also penetrates walls etc. better than 2.4ghz/5ghz. So far my batteries are still 70% and it's been running for ~6months. My old wifi lock I'd be replacing every other month.
I have the fingerprint version which works 100% of the time for me, but it has the PIN fallback anyway if I need it. I plan to buy more!
I’ve had 3 of the Schlage zwave door lock for a long time and have always hated them. These Philips locks are amazing. They don’t really match my aesthetic but I was tired of the extremely buggy Schlage. Zero problems so far with this one. One of the reasons I chose to switch is because these locks also have the Schlage style key so I was able to switch the pins from my old lock to this one and still have my same keys as before.
The lock was a direct replacement for my old Kwikset deadbolt. It was easy to setup and pair with Z Wave. I like the fingerprint unlock option. The only picky item would be it seems of less overall quality. Less weight. More plastic.
