Before installing, make sure the load does not exceed 500W for incandescent lights or 150W for LED's. Check your wiring first to confirm that you have all the following wires present in your gang box: load (most often black), line (most often black), neutral (most often white), and ground (most often green).
If you are not comfortable identifying the wiring and following the instructions, please hire a licensed electrician.

Here are some helpful wiring tips:
How to include the Dimmer & Scene Controller switch to your smart home network?
1. Bring your Z-Wave hub or controller as close to the switch as possible
2. Put your hub in inclusion/pairing mode
3. Tap the main button 3 times quickly to finalize the inclusion process
4. A new dimmer and scene controller should appear on your controller's device list
NOTE: Use a dedicated diagram from the manual to wire the switch in a 3-way setting with a regular electrical switch if you are looking to control one light with 2 or 3 switches.
The scene controller itself is great once you get past setting it up. To update the firmware in Home Assitant you need to exclude it and then re-add it without security. If you still want security after firmware update you need to exclude and add again with security. Further, this process seems to reset any parameters you’ve set. Speaking of parameters, setting it to
Smart bulb mode can’t entirely be done within the GUI of the device itself. Parameter 36 which allows for scene control on the big button is disabled by default contrary to the documentation. However, this parameter is not exposed in the GUI. You must do it through Developer Tools —> Actions —> Set a Value (advanced). This was challenging for a Home Assistant novice to figure out without ChatGPT assistance. The Zooz AI assistant was no help.
I gave setup 3 of these and has since ordered 5 more. So, I do recommend it. You don’t need the ZEN35 if using smart bulb mode. You only need the ZEN32. However, the 35 was on sale and therefore cheaper for me.
5 stars for the device and 3 stars for lack of specific smart bulb set up instructions for ZEN35 available from Zooz.
Zooz 800 Series Z-Wave Long Range Dimmer & Scene Controller ZEN35 800LR
This scene controller dimmer has the same functionality as the ZEN32 scene controller which is excellent. Using some automation blueprints in Home Assistant I am able to easily set each button to control a different light in the room. The addition of dimmer functionality works very well and has an added bonus of using a relay when the switch is fully off which I think is great and I wish the other dimmer switches did this. I wish I had bought these for every switch in the house.
Replacing every light switch possible with these. I use the programmable LEDs as indicators and reminders.
Rock solid z-wave devices. Has have been as solid as my Lutron switches while having longer range and being slightly cheaper.
