How to add the Wall Remote to your Z-Wave home hub?
1. Make sure the device is within range of your Z-Wave network
2. Put your Z-Wave hub in inclusion/pairing mode
3. Tap the top button of the Remote Switch 6 times quickly to finalize the inclusion process (or scan the QR code / enter the 4-digit DSK number printed on the back of the remote if using the new SmartStart method)
4. A new remote control / button controller device will appear on your hub's device list
I've had a ZEN34 remote for years and it's great but swapping the CR2032 is a bit of a hassle (admittedly, a very first-world problem) and remembering the different taps for the different scenes isn't always intuitive for the family. But the ZEN37 addresses these issues with more buttons and a built-in rechargeable battery. They're such a handy addition to my smart home for those frequent actions that we don't want to talk to a voice assistant or pull out a phone for. As some other reviews mention, the build quality is a bit lacking, but these aren't buttons on the dash of a BMW, they're a simple clicker for home automations. And, at this price point, I'm not complaining or docking a star.
I’m using these with Home Assistant and a Nortek Z-Wave/Zigbee stick. Setup was easy, and they work great. There’s blueprints already made by other HA users that allow mapping of all the buttons, included double, triple and long presses. My only gripe is the buttons themselves, particularly the large two, have a very odd mushy-yet-clicky feel to them that often makes me think I might have accidentally double-tapped on them. I wish these had the solid feeling of the Zooz wired scene controllers, which are fantastic.
I installed the wireless remote control next to a light socket, added double gang face plate, and it looks great.
The functionality is great; I can control a ton of devices with just one remote.
the click is not robust and feels a bit flimsy; otherwise a good concept and will use
I now have 4 of these and they are Great. Installed easily in Hubitat using Smartstart. Using the community driver which has lots of advanced features. Great range and battery life.
