Check your wiring first to confirm that you have all the following wires present in your electrical box: power, neutral, and the connection to the detector.
If you are not comfortable identifying the wiring and following the instructions, please hire a licensed electrician.
Here is an example diagram showing how to wire the ZEN55 to a smoke detector:
I'd installed the Nest Smoke & CO detectors when they came out, because I could get the notifications on my phone, even when I'm not at home. It gave me peace of mind. 10 years later, the Nests are no longer in production. I needed something similar and stumbled across the ZEN55! I'm now free to use ANY interconnected Smoke and CO detectors, I get the notifications and I'm now able to integrate it with the rest of my smart home! Open the garage doors, turn the sprinklers on and unlock the doors in the event of a smoke or CO warning... the options are only limited by our imagination!
The notifications have been flawless during all tests!
Super easy install, great range, easy pairing. No complaints.
You can independently signal on smoke and co2 with this. I love it. And it was easier to wire than the old solution which was a smoke alarm relay coupled with a contact sensor.
I love it—a cheaper solution than buying a Z-Wave smoke and CO detector. Works well with existing fire alarm system.
Got it hooked up in a few minutes and it quickly detected smoke and CO signals on a test run. It's an excellent option to add phone alerts to an existing "dumb" wired smoke alarm system that's both affordable and fully local.
