      WORKS WITH

NOTE: If you don't see your Z-Wave controller on the list above, please ask the manufacturer of your Z-Wave hub about support for the ZEN55 before you purchase this product.

        INSTALLATION

Check your wiring first to confirm that you have all the following wires present in your electrical box: power, neutral, and the connection to the detector.

If you are not comfortable identifying the wiring and following the instructions, please hire a licensed electrician.

Here is an example diagram showing how to wire the ZEN55 to a smoke detector:

        INSTALLATION TIPS

        • Use with any standard interconnect smoke and/or CO alarms.
        • Always turn off the power at the breaker before handling the wiring, this is a 120 V high-voltage installation.
        • The last detector in series will be the one that only has 3 wires coming into the box (vs 5 or more in other boxes). This is where you'll have the most space to install your smart device at. (NOTE: it can be installed in any box in the series; the last is recommended only because of space.)
        • When adding the ZEN55 relay to your hub, you may need to scan the QR code or enter the PIN code located on the back of the relay (if your system supports SmartStart). Read more about adding the device to your hub here.
        • Test the detector's alarm (follow the instructions for your unit) to see if the status of the device changes in your hub's interface once the alarm goes off. Remember to warn your family members or roommates when testing this!
        • Always turn the power off when securing the module and the detector back in the electrical box.
        • You'll need to create an automation in your hub for a notification to be sent to your phone or email once the status on the ZEN55 changes so you can immediately know if the alarm is triggered.

        Works like a charm

Connected it to my smoke and C0 alarm. Updated firmware and now it's integrated into SmartThings. I will be buying more zooz devices.

        Easy set up

Very easy to install and set up. My new automations should alert me to smoke detection.

Cheap and easy way to make your smoke and CO detectors smart.

I was able to replace two Kidde relay modules and two Shelly 1relays with this tiny module. This meant getting two more devices off of my wifi and directly to Home Assistant. This is my first Z-Wave device along with the ZST39 usb stick, so I now have more options for sensors. The only con I can see so far is in my case is that updating and reboots will trigger the automations I have for it, which can cause some stress.

        Great compromise to smart detectors

I was due to replace all of my smoke alarms and wanted to add smart functionality. The selection and price tag was keeping me from pulling the trigger. Then I found this smart relay. Super easy to wire in to my interconnected detectors. Though it can't differentiate which detector would be going off, it does separate smoke and carbon monoxide warnings. But with a total of six detectors in my home I feel like a few bucks extra for each one just to add peace of mind is completely worth it.

Great replacement for Nest Aware subscription to detect smoke and CO alarms

Works great and easy to install. Great to have peace of mind when away from the house knowing I will receive alerts for smoke or co alarms.
