This product is available in different Z-Wave frequencies so please make sure you choose the correct region before checking out. You need to select the same frequency / region as your hub when buying Z-Wave devices for them to include to your system. Before wiring the Double Relay in, check that the load does not exceed 500W for incandescent lights, 150W for LED's, 1/4 hp for fans and motors, or 5A for resistive load per relay. Examine all connections to verify that you have all the necessary wires available in the switch box: load (most often black), line (most often black), neutral (most often white), and ground (most often green).
If you are not comfortable identifying the wiring and following the instructions, please hire a licensed electrician.
Here are some helpful wiring tips:
How to include the Double Relay to your smart home network?
1. Put your Z-Wave controller in inclusion/pairing mode
2. Click the Z-Wave button on the relay 3 times quickly to finalize the inclusion process (and scan the SmartStart security QR code or enter PIN if prompted)
3. Two new on/off switches and a master device should appear on your controller's device list
Does what it says and Zwave performance is great. I’m using it in my dining room to control a ceiling fan and light. I paired it with the double relay since I only have one load from the switch. Now I have independent control of the light and the fan using direct association! Awesome! I’m going to be getting one of these for each ceiling fan in the house.
These little gems are hidden in the electric boxes. There is something awesome about having matching switches. We use a couple of fan, right at the fan, controlling the light and fan separately. Only "complaint" I have is HomeAssistant treats the two switches as being in the same room. Our entrance foyer and outside light are in the same electrical box, but different rooms.
I used these for a light/fan fixture, where I could only get 1 romex to. Allows me to now control the light and fan independently. I use a ZEN30 as the button controller, even though it doesn't actually turn power on/off. In general, I'm very happy with Zooz products, their support is actually very good.
The stuff is ETL certified and supports z-wave for ease of integration. If you run your own automation system, i.e. homeassistant, etc., this is a solid choice, with good pricing.
Great for use with smart ceiling fan. I had two existing, manual rocker switches in a two gang box that controlled separate power to the fan and light. The ceiling fan/light combo is a smart fan/light that can be controlled over a mobile app, bluetooth remote and Home Assistant (Modern Forms integration). I utilized the Double Relay to control the fan and light separately (power to light is not used), and configured the Double Relay (Relay 1 and Relay 2) to Smart switch mode (local control disabled). I created an automation in Home Assistant to trigger based on scenes z_wave_js_value_notification and toggle either Relay 1 or Relay 2. Works perfectly. Now the rocker switches and remotes can control the operation of the fan and light.
