- USB port or battery powered
- IP43 rated - operates outdoors in most weather conditions
- Requires a Z-Wave gateway controller
HOW IT WORKS
Connect the Energy Meter to your electrical panel as indicated in the diagram and pair it with your Z-Wave gateway controller to see how much energy is being used by appliances and lighting fixtures in your home or office. This device helps you better understand and manage energy usage. It's the basis of every smart home.
Follow the instruction manual carefully to connect the Smart Energy Meter to the electrical panel at your building. If you are unsure how to proceed at any step along this process, consult a licensed electrician.
Some metal panel boxes may interrupt the radio communication signal between the Home Energy Meter and your Z-Wave controller. If you are having issues with the range, you may install the meter outside of the box. Attach the meter vertically with its wires positioned at the bottom of the unit.
To include the unit in your Z-Wave network, send a pairing command from your gateway hub, put the batteries in the meter, and press the action button located by the battery slot. If you come across any pairing issues, read this blog entry for an easy solution. Not sure if your Z-Wave controller supports this device? Contact us.
